Design Your Own Character

Students developed their own characters in their LA classes with their homeroom teachers. In ADST we did different activities to show how the clothes we wear tell a story and is a part of our characters. At the end of their character development unit the students came to class dressed up and interacted with their classmates acting like their characters. We had wizards, space rangers, spies, turtles, invisible race car drivers, and jungle creatures all playing, talking and working together in one Zoom room!

Seesaw and Zoom Classes Activities

Class 1: Create your a character!

As a team choose one of Ms. Lam's characters and create a story for these characters.

Make sure you answer these questions:

  1. What is their name?

  2. Where are they from?

  3. What is their favourite activity and why?

  4. What is their least favourite activity and why?

  5. What do they like to eat?

  6. Anything else that is interesting about this character

Class 2: Cosplay - Become your Favorite Character

What is your favourite movie or book character? With what you have at home, dress up like that character. (extending: you can make your own accessories)

Take a video of you pretending to be your favourite character. In the video explain:

  • What is your name?

  • Who you are?

  • Where you are from?

  • What is your goal in your story?

  • What do you like?

  • What do you not like?

  • Add anything else that would add to the personality of your character!

In LA students worked with their teacher to write and develop their own character.

Class 3: Introduce your character

In class students dressed up and acted like the character they created.

At the beginning of class students introduced themselves as their characters.

There was wizards, space rangers, spies, turtles, invisible race car drivers, and jungle creatures all playing, talking and working together in one zoom room!
